I am an Australian artist based on the Far South Coast of NSW, working in digital and alternative photo media, including video, digital collage and cyanotype prints. My video works create immersive, non-narrative experiences, generating contemplative spaces.
Originally trained in theatre, I hold an Advanced Diploma in Dramatic Art – Directing from the Victorian College of the Arts. For over a decade, I worked as a freelance director and dramaturg before transitioning into video and photo-based media.
My artistic practice is driven by curiosity about how human experiences of the natural environment shape divine symbolism. Through symmetry and repetition, I explore how these themes intersect in contemporary life. Engaging deeply with my surroundings, I create all my work using imagery captured close to where I live and work.
My fascination with repetition began in theatre through the rehearsal process was deepened during my studies of Islamic geometric design in Morocco (2014–2017). This experience cultivated an appreciation for the spiritual and mathematical foundations of pattern-making, which I now explore through mirroring techniques—using symmetry to fragment and reconfigure imagery. By layering and distorting visuals, I investigate the tension between figuration and abstraction.
My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Craft Victoria, Northcote Town Hall, City of Greater Dandenong, and Photo Access Canberra, as well as in Morocco, France, and online. I have also participated in projection and public art festivals.
I am part of MAP (More Art Please), a collective of artists exploring the possibilities of art beyond traditional spaces—bringing events into the community through pubs, shopfronts, and open spaces. To find out more about MAP and its projects, visit www.moreartplease.au.
I am also the co-founder of Inlets Regional Arts Services. Alongside my partner, Liz McCrystal, we provide consultancy, project coordination, and installation services to regional arts organisations and schools.
